Dhaka Survival is an independent browser game created by Md Muftadi-Ul-Islam. It started as a small idea: what would a single day of walking through Dhaka look like if it were a video game?

The game is satire. Its snatchers, extortionists, protests, falling bricks and police checks are exaggerations meant to make people smile at shared, everyday experiences. All characters and incidents are fictional and do not represent any real person, group, community or organisation. Nothing in the game is meant to demean any person or community.

The game is a personal project of the author. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any government body, armed force or employer.

How it is made

The game is written from scratch in HTML, CSS and JavaScript and runs fully in your browser. The street scenes use a custom pseudo-3D engine. Some artwork was created with AI image tools and edited by the author. Some building textures come from openly licensed photographs (see Credits). Music and sound clips were supplied by the author.
